Friends of Chehalem Trails:
Enjoy, Volunteer & Advocate for Trails

Get Involved—Volunteer With Us!

Our trails and parks thrive because of dedicated volunteers like you! Whether you love leading group hikes, getting your hands dirty with trail maintenance, or advocating for better outdoor spaces, there’s a role for you. Volunteering is a great way to give back, meet like-minded people, and make a lasting impact on our community. Explore the opportunities below and find the best way to lend your time, skills, and passion to Friends of Chehalem Trails. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected trail system for everyone to enjoy!

Trail/Park Maintenance Volunteers

Our trails and parks need your helping hands. Join us for an upcoming park cleanup or trail maintenance day. Check out our events page.

Volunteer Crew Co-Leaders

We anticipate large turnouts to our volunteer work days. Dividing participants into smaller more manageable groups is vital to ensuring every participant is safe, has fun, and makes a positive impact on our parks and trails. They'll be looking to you for guidance and encouragement. Previous trail volunteer and experience leading, managing, or coaching small teams or groups is preferred. Contact us to learn more about Volunteer Crew Co-Leader opportunities.

Community Hike/Bike Co-Leaders

Are you passionate about encouraging others to enjoy our local trails and parks? Could you welcome and introduce others to a favorite local park, trail, or walking/biking route around town? Or would you like to share your knowledge of local history, plants, birds, or insects? You may be the ideal volunteer to co-lead an upcoming event. Contact us to learn more about volunteering as a community hike/bike co-leader.

Trail/Park Advocates

Our trails and parks need your voice. When you speak up at a public meeting, write a letter to elected officials, post to social media, or sign a petition your voice joins the growing chorus of people in our community making the case for trails and parks. We can provide you with background information and possible talking points on park and trails topics that are near and dear to your heart. Contact us learn more.

Community Partners

Do you have a connection with a local church, nonprofit, club, or business that aligns with our mission to encourage people to enjoy, volunteer, and advocate for our local trails and parks? Reach out and help us get connected.
